Yosemite National Park Elopement // Yosemite, CA
Can you imagine how GRAND it is, to stand at the top of Yosemite, overlooking the valley and Half Dome in all its glory, and realize that you get to marry your person today?
When Cass sent me this email, I KNEW this was going to simply be the prettiest, most laid-back elopement ever. Cass + Tim’s relationship with this amazing National Park goes way back. “Tim and I met while he was at penn state for college! We knew each other for a while and over time and crazy, beautiful, fun, loving relationship blossomed!! We are the adventure seeking, nature loving and laid back type :) Tim proposed in Washington DC on the Potomac water front with a violinist playing in the background. It was so simply romantic. Tim grew up in northern cal and adores Yosemite. Last year he shared his love of Yosemite National Park with me. He surprised me with a hike up Half Dome, which as you can imagine, was the hike of a lifetime!! We can’t wait to get married in what we think is the most beautiful place on earth surrounded by our parents and siblings! We are much more interested in capturing and enjoying the beauty of Yosemite before anything else!!”
Funny story though about that hike up Half Dome a couple years back…
Tim’s plan all along was to propose to Cass once they reached the top. And after a brutal hike, they reached the top with insane views all around, where they saw SOMEONE ELSE getting proposed to!!! Tim had to postpone his proposal plans as to not take away from the other couple or from Cassy’s moment. Poor guy!!! But a year of planning later, and he created an equally romantic and magical scene to propose to his gal. It seemed only fitting, though, that we wake up at the crack of dawn to catch the sunrise with Half Dome in the background! HECK to the yes! Glacier Point for bridals did not disappoint!
After our sunrise session we parted ways so that they could hangout with their family and I could edit some goodies for them before their sunset ceremony.
For their intimate ceremony with just their immediate family, we headed down to Half Dome Meadow to get ready. Tim’s brother officiated, and their family shared some tears with them during their little ceremony. After their first kiss, we popped some bottles and celebrated shortly with their fam before heading off for sunset portraits by the river with Cathedral Rocks in the background.
After the rocks turned pink from the glowing sunset, we waved goodbye to Yosemite National Park and started a 12 hour road trip back home. Safe to say, I will never forget this beautiful, intimate, adventurous Yosemite elopement with some of my new favorite people ever.
