Moab Utah Engagements
KALI AND TYLER. YOU ARE MY FAVE PEOPLE.
Okay but actually, I don’t say that lightly!!!!! From the moment we started talking from their inquiry, to hanging out with them for 2 days in Utah, I seriously wanna be besties with these guys. I am so thankful for amazing clients & the crazy connections I get to make through this wedding photography job! Also I feel equally blessed to have had the opportunity to meet up with them in Moab Utah, such a beautiful and meaningful place for them!
Since my paraphrasing of their story wouldn’t be as cute as their own words, here’s the funny story of how they met!
“We met online in a funny way! So I’m not much of an online dater but my friend convinced my after a night of too many drinks at the line dancing bar to let her set one up for me! She had used it and enjoys the cereal dating life Lolol. So after a week or so of continuing on with life and forgetting about it I opened up my email and realized every message I was receiving in that app was also going to email!!!!!! At this point I’m like no way, I’m deleting this now, I can’t deal lol. So I opened the app to delete it and as it’s about to be a done deal, I thought, I’m just going to see if any of these guys are cute before I delete it entirely . So Tyler (my fiancé) was the only guy I ended up messaging back before I deleted the app. We had our first date at Six Flags, and the rest is history!!!!!”
If their meeting story wasn’t crazy/cute enough, check out their proposal story!!!
“I left everything there to move to Florida with Tyler so we could stay together. Within only 3 months of arriving they deployed him. It was an 8 month deployment and of all the places, it was to Europe. So here I am alone in Florida (I don’t even like Florida lol), brand new, no family, and he leaves for deployment to the one place I’ve always wanted to go!!!!! Lolol you can’t make this stuff up! Anyways, he sends me all the pictures of him at the places I’ve wanted to see most! (The lock bridge, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame). Face times me to make me feel included lol. But honestly it was one of the hardest deployments we have ever been through. They spent the majority of their time on the aircraft carrier out to sea. Not much communication and when we finally did get the chance to talk we had to pay for a phone card so he could call me from the ship. A phone call that would end prematurely due to bad reception or typically fly by so quickly that when our 20 min warning came it would almost bring you to tears before cutting you off. Fast forward to him arriving home from deployment. He always buys everyone little souvenirs when he goes oversees. So he had given me my gift. I opened it to find a padlock with the word Paris and a heart engraved. And he said to me, “I know this has been hard but I promise I am going to take you back there one day. And this lock is a symbol of that promise.” So we go back to our lives together in Florida, enjoying him being home. A few months go by and it is due to be our 3 year anniversary. I could sense something special about this one. He wanted me to get all dressed up. He ordered an Uber black to take us to one of our favorite restaurants. Exactly what we both needed after him being gone for so long! A special night to celebrate us making it through! I wasn’t expecting any more than that really until I opened my card. It was decorated with stickers of passports and airplanes, maps and compasses. I turned the page and that’s when I saw the airline tickets—- we were going to Parisssss!!!!!! So it was the 2nd day of our trip. I was really wanting to ride the big bus around and see all the things but he was being so weird saying we had to go to the lock bridge. It was like late morning lol. I was thinking the lock bridge would maybe be an evening fun romantic type thing but nevertheless he insisted so away we went. We hopped on one of those little bike caddy’s and the guy took us there. I rushed over in excitement and started looking at all the locks and reading them. Only to realize ummm where did Tyler go? He was like all the way down at the corner by himself? lol so I walked down there to initially ask him what the heck he was doing!!!! And that’s when I saw a random stranger and strangers wife lol holding Tyler’s phone, he grabbed by hands and honestly I really wish I could tell you what all he said but I like completely blacked out Lololol, next thing I knew he was down on one knee with the ring out of his pocket and of course I said YESSSS!!!!!!!! Lol after I thought it couldn’t get any better, he pulled the lock he had gotten me out of his other pocket and said, “I told you I’d bring back.” So we locked our little lock on the bridge and the rest is history girrrrllllll!!!!!!”
LIKE EXCUSE ME. IS THAT THE MOST ROMANTIC THING EVER OR WHAT?!?!?
Okay back to how much I adore these two. We did the first day of their engagement session at Under Canvas Moab, where Kali used to work! Then we went to Cathedral Valley for the dopest desert engagement session ever!!! I seriously did not think it could get any better, until we went to Dead Horse Point State Park on the second day of their engagements and they SLAYED MEEEEEE!!!!!!! I think I literally collapsed when I got back to our trailer and cried the happiest tears ever.
Not only are these two absolutely stunning, but they are so sweet & tender together, but also so FUN and silly with one another! They truly have helped each other grow SO much together since they’ve been dating, and it was so moving to hear their growth & journey together to get to this point.
Safe to say I will be sharing these two for years to come. Can’t wait for the wedding friends!!!
