Moab Half-Day Adventure Elopement

Lainey & Andrew reached out to me to help them plan their trip out west where they wanted to elope with their best friends in Moab! Helping couples decide on the best locations and ideas for their celebration is one of my favorite aspects of my job. They booked my half-day elopement package where we met up at sunrise first for more of an “engagement” session (or you could just think of it as casual morning portraits) in Arches National Park. For their sunrise shoot we started at Turret Arch and then drove over to Sand Dune Arch.

The morning was MUCH colder than anticipated so we decided to cut it a bit short to not freeze!! We went our separate ways for the day before meeting up again in the evening. I hopped in their Jeep and we took off down dirt roads to arrive at the most epic overlook in Moab! This secret spot is one of my favorites to take my couples to. I go by memory for directions since maps doesn’t have the accurate roads! It’s all a part of the adventure elopement experience here in the desert!

For their ceremony they kept it simple with a rug from Amazon and their best friends there to officiate, be “wedding party” and video crew! Simplicity = no stress (and I am all about it!!!) I love when the only witnesses to your union are yourselves + your best friends and the only sound you hear is the echo of your celebration through the desert canyon walls!

After the ceremony we took some epic portraits!

Then they broke out the beers and did a cheers to the newlyweds! Your elopement day can look however you want - bring along your family, your friends, or keep it just you two! I consider an elopement under 10 people total. There are so many ways you can have celebratory moments with your people on your elopement day - you could have a picnic setup with takeout dinner and drinks, you could hire a stylist to do a gorgeous table either at your airbnb or at your portrait location with a fancy dinner, or you could just bring some drinks to crack open whenever you feel like it!

And of course we had to incorporate their Jeep into the photos with an epic sunset behind. Keep scrolling to see all the Jeep appearances in their photos!

Keep exploring Moab:
