Under Canvas Bryce Canyon Wedding: A Glamping Destination Experience

When Jake and Jennifer first reached out to me, they said something that instantly stuck with me: "We really love defying expectations and not conforming to what society tells us anything is supposed to look like." Their words perfectly captured the spirit of their unforgettable destination wedding weekend just outside Bryce Canyon National Park. They didn’t just plan a wedding—they crafted an experience that was as adventurous, bold, and authentic as their love story. With a multi-day wedding package, I was able to document every beautiful and unexpected moment of their celebration.

We kicked off their weekend with an adventure session on the Navajo Loop, one of Bryce Canyon’s most iconic trails. As the sun dipped low in the sky, we explored towering hoodoos and winding paths, capturing their love against a backdrop of fiery desert hues. On day two, we shifted gears for an intimate couples session in their Under Canvas glamping tent. By the time the wedding day rolled around, everyone was ready to celebrate—but the desert had its own plans.

The morning of their outdoor wedding brought a dramatic storm, complete with booming thunder, crackling lightning, and an intense downpour. What was supposed to be a serene outdoor ceremony turned into something even more memorable. As the rain soaked everyone to the bone, we all couldn’t help but laugh at the sheer unpredictability of it all. Halfway through their vows, the rain became torrential, forcing us to relocate to Under Canvas’ tiny welcome reception space. With drenched hair and clothes, their closest friends and family huddled together, passing around towels and blankets while Jake and Jen shared their vows in the most intimate, heartfelt way imaginable.

Mother Nature didn’t leave us hanging, though. As the storm cleared, an epic rainbow and a vibrant desert sunset lit up the sky—an unforgettable reminder of the beauty that often comes after chaos. The night ended with dinner, speeches, and barefoot dancing into the early hours of the morning, everyone embracing the raw, unfiltered joy of the moment. Jake and Jennifer’s weekend wasn’t what anyone expected, but it was exactly what it was meant to be: authentic, adventurous, and full of love.

What the couple had to say about their experience with me:

Andie was the most INCREDIBLE photographer. We hired Andie to shoot our 3 day glamping wedding in Bryce Canyon. Leading up to the wedding she was incredibly responsive and even helped us get some inspo for what to wear for pre wedding shots in the park. She was flexible with how we wanted to use her time which allowed us to do photos in the park and photos in our tent at the start of the weekend. Andie was so incredibly easy to get along with and my husband went from being nervous about taking photos to absolutely loving being in the limelight and taking Andie’s cues. It’s obvious from the output of her work she has the most incredible eye, artistic vision, and execution. She turned the best of those photos around in a single evening to have a slideshow at our wedding the next day. I forgot to mention. IT ABSOLUTELY DOWNPOURED before and during our wedding ceremony. Andie never batted an eye and was always calm despite the craziness of the day. Her second shooter did a fantastic job capturing the groom and wedding party before the ceremony. All of the photos from our wedding day, every single one of almost 1,000 photos, is some of the best photography I have ever seen. If you’re trying to decide if Andie is worth it - she absolutely is. I plan to hire her again for any special occasions to capture memories in the great outdoors.
