Wildflower Family Session at Mount Hood’s Timberline Lodge

There are some sessions that feel less like work and more like getting to spend an evening with friends you genuinely adore — and this one at Mount Hood’s Timberline Lodge, right in the heart of peak wildflower season, was exactly that.

If you’ve followed my work for a while, you might recognize this beautiful family. I first photographed Haleigh and her husband for their maternity session, and from the moment we met, I knew they were my kind of people. Haleigh has always been one of my outdoorsy girl icons — the kind of woman who feels completely at home surrounded by mountains, fresh air, and adventure. Getting to know her and her husband has been such an unexpected joy, and photographing their growing family feels like the biggest honor.

You may also have noticed that I don’t typically photograph families, but that is something I am changing. Watching couples transition into parenthood — still laughing together, still a team, still adventuring — is one of the most beautiful parts of life and I’ve been finding such joy in photographing them lately. Being invited back to document the next chapter of someone’s life is the ultimate compliment, and with these two, it just feels like catching up with old friends.

Wildflowers + Babies + Mount Hood Magic

Soft mountain air.
Purple wildflowers everywhere.
Baby giggles and parents who genuinely light up around each other.
Golden sun hitting the peak of Mount Hood.
That kind of peaceful, slow magic that only comes from being outdoors with people who truly love the outdoors.

Timberline Lodge in late summer is something out of a fairytale. The entire mountainside was carpeted in purple lupines swaying in the soft breeze, glowing in the golden light that only Mount Hood seems to know how to make. We wandered through alongside the meadows, their little one snuggled up and taking in all the colors and sounds, while the mountain towered above us in the background like a quiet guardian.

If you want photos like this… Mount Hood in wildflower season will forever be one of my favorite places to photograph families, couples, and maternity sessions. If you’re dreaming of photos surrounded by lupines, alpine light, and those classic PNW views, you already know I’m packing my hiking boots.
