Grand Canyon Sunrise Elopement // Grand Canyon, AZ
Not your typical elopement morning!!!! STORY TIME!
Flash back: their actual civil marriage was official awhile back, & after sealing the deal in the courthouse they went straight to a Mumford & sons concert, followed by staying the night in a motel with friends.
They wanted a way to be someplace special & make some promises to each other. No fluff, just them & someplace that would echo their love & adventurous life together.
Flash forward: on Friday they just bought a campervan to start their traveling life together, they drove 20 hours to the Grand Canyon (& forgot to pick up their florals on the way) where they got in at midnight & the showers were already closed. Had to meet up with me at 5:30am to catch sunrise & ride the crazy shuttle system, so safe to say they were tired & not as cleaned up as maybe originally planned!
She wrote her vows while on the shuttle bus, he practiced his from his phone. we arrived in the dark & she got dressed by headlamp. We walked out & her eyes filled with tears at the first sight of the Grand Canyon.
They shivered as they took in all the views at Powell Point and the changing colors hitting the rocks as the sun came up for the day. They read their vows, danced to Mumford & Sons, & laughed a whole lot... all while in birkenstocks!!!
I loved that even though plenty of things went wrong & the trip didn’t start the way they expected, they were just so joyful together & down for whatever the experience looked like.
Moral of the story: you can get married however YOU want to. I’m giving you permission if no one else has yet! & if things go wrong or not as planned, soak it up. Take it with a light heart & you’ll be able to laugh for years to come! embrace the chaos & just marry your goof!!!

This Zion National Park elopement was a blend of adventure, love, and family connection. After driving cross-country from North Carolina, they exchanged vows by the Virgin River and hiked to Canyon Overlook for breathtaking sunset portraits.
