Lake Pend Oreille Summer Micro Wedding

When Bryna and Brandon envisioned their wedding day, they wanted something that felt like them: a small, intimate gathering where laughter flowed as easily as the summer breeze off the lake. Their dream was less about formality and more about connection—a celebration of love wrapped up in family, nature, and a whole lot of fun. And let me tell you, their wedding day on the dock of Lake Pend Oreille delivered every bit of that vision.

Picture this: a warm summer day in Idaho, the lake glistening under the sun, surrounded by the peacefulness of the woods and the subtle, nostalgic smell of pine. The couple chose a family cabin—a place deeply rooted in their memories and legacy—as the setting for their day. With about 20 of their closest people (and their sweet pup!) gathered, it was a perfect blend of heartfelt moments and laid-back joy.

A Dockside First Look

When it was time for their first look, Bryna made her way down to the dock where Brandon was waiting. The lake stretched out behind them, the water shimmering as ducks floated by. Smoke from distant wildfires created a hazy backdrop, giving the rolling hills a soft glow. They laughed, hugged, and took a moment to just be together, surrounded by the sounds of water lapping against the dock. Afterward, we wandered the property for their portraits, capturing their playful energy and joy that radiated between them.

An Intimate Ceremony by the Water

The ceremony was the kind of intimate, heartfelt event you dream of. Everyone gathered on the dock, seated comfortably as Brandon’s mom officiated. Bryna and Brandon exchanged their promises with the water sparkling behind them, their family and friends just feet away. It was simple, meaningful, and perfect.

Lakeside Fun and a Summer Party

Once the ceremony wrapped up, it was time to kick back and celebrate. Starting off with a bang when the bride and groom jumped fully clothed into the lake! After an outfit change, the group moved to the lawn for a relaxed evening of food, drinks, and good company. Bryna and Brandon’s friend manned the BBQ, serving up the kind of delicious comfort food that makes a summer gathering unforgettable.

Guests sipped beers, played cornhole, and shared stories as the golden hour bathed the yard in warm light. It was the kind of atmosphere where you felt like time could stand still—a moment where nothing mattered except the people you were with. As the sun set over the lake, the party transitioned to the deck. Toasts were made, each one filled with love and a little humor, as everyone raised their glasses to Bryna and Brandon. They danced and partied hard all night long!

A Wedding Rooted in Memories

What made this day so special wasn’t just the stunning backdrop or the heartfelt ceremony. It was the meaning woven into every detail. Bryna and Brandon’s choice to marry at a family cabin—a place filled with stories, laughter, and history—created a wedding that felt like home. Their dog, their closest friends and family, the intimate touches like Brandon’s mom officiating, and their desire to keep the day relaxed all came together in a way that felt authentic to them. It wasn’t just a celebration of their love; it was a celebration of their life and the people who have shaped it.

If you’ve ever dreamed of an intimate lakeside wedding that feels more like a summer party than a formal affair, Bryna and Brandon’s day is all the inspiration you need. Whether it’s a family cabin, a favorite park, or just somewhere that feels special to you, it’s amazing what can happen when you infuse your day with meaning, connection, and a sense of fun. This Lake Pend Oreille wedding will stick with me for a long time—a beautiful reminder that sometimes the simplest moments are the most magical.

What the couple had to say about working with me: “I cannot recommend Andie enough! We had Andie photograph our lakeside micro-wedding. Her presence, amazing ability to capture the day and her work ethic were all beyond my expectations. She was a joy to be around from the first phone interaction and then to the day of, every single guest had nothing other than praise. Now let’s talk about her ability to perfectly capture everyone’s energy and the abundance love and joy from every person. I have so many sneak peaks to my gallery, but already I’m questioning how I will be able to narrow down my favorites because every single photo is beautiful. Lastly, this woman’s work ethic is outstanding. She had a ridiculous amount of traveling around the time of our event, but that did not stop her from being punctual to our event and delivering so many previews in a very short time frame after our big day. 10/10 would recommend!”
