Montana Woodsy Cabin Micro Wedding in Hamilton, MT

Have you ever dreamed of a beautiful micro wedding set in a humble mountain town where you could rent out a huge cabin in the woods for all your family and friends to stay at together all weekend? I know a LOT of couples these days are considering smaller weddings with more intention and less tradition. Let this beautiful day be an example of how you could get creative and create the most perfect weekend with your loved ones!

Kelsey was the mastermind behind this beautiful and meaningful gathering to celebrate her and Ian’s marriage. They started by finding a huge cabin in the woods where they had enough space for everyone, the ceremony, and the reception. It was close driving distance to a gorgeous park with river and mountain views that we could do their first look and portraits at. Unfortunately due to wildfire season, we were smoked out and didn’t really get any views of the mountains. But it was still gorgeous!

Every detail was so perfectly thought out… ever decor item was a stunning jewel toned piece that complemented all the other design elements of the day. A sort of vintage meets woodsy meets elegant vibe if you will. The food was fantastic, the speeches were heartfelt and moving, and it was so beautiful to see all their different friends from different parts of their lives come together and form their own new friendships.

Even though it took a lot of hard work, Kelsey had her mind set on a light tunnel that would surround the entire table, making the evening feel that much more magical. I’ve seen these on Pinterest boards before but never in real life - and it truly was the most romantic and magical touch for their reception setup!

When Ian’s dad brought out his guitar and sang “So damn lucky” I don’t think there was a dry eye at the table. This song was special to Kelsey and Ian as they had heard it at a folk festival with his dad and claimed it as “their song”. The evening continued with cake, champagne popping, cigars with grandma, a photo booth couch area, dancing and warm jackets as the evening cooled down quickly.
